Review: L'Oreal Paris ~ Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution

Review time :)

First of all I will start with what the L'Oreal website states about this product.

"L’OrĂ©al Paris Skin Perfection Purifying Micellar Water, high performance cleansing for sensitive skin. Used by make-up artists, the ‘micellar’ solution swiftly removes all traces of make-up and acts like a purifying magnet on skin’s surface to capture and draw out excess oil and impurities. So gentle, skin feels soothed and toned. Hypo-allergenic. No Alcohol. Dermatologically tested."

What I think:

Well personally I LOVE this product and I use it every night! I find it takes off all of my make up and leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth! I tend to use it with cotton wool pads and use them until I no longer have any make up residue left on the pad. It is very gentle and has no alcohol in the product, which I really like. I even use it to take off my eye make up. I have sensitive skin and so far have had no bad reaction around my eye area from doing so. BONUS! hehe. I am now on my 3rd bottle this is how much I adore the product.

WARNING:

The hole in the top of the bottle is rather wide therefore you can sometimes over pour and this results in a waste of the product and also a very wet, soggy cotton wool pad!

You are able to pick this product up from most UK supermarkets or drugstores. The RRP is £4.99

Have you tried it?

LOVE IT: Viktor&Rolf ~ Flowerbomb Perfume

Smelling lovely is a must right?

Well I FINALLY got given Viktor&Rolf Flowerbomb perfume as a gift :) SCORE! I have wanted this perfume for soooooo long! I have never bought it myself because it is not the cheapest or perfumes, and spare dosh for like many of you I assume is not a regular occurrence for me. So you can utterly imagine the excitement that came over me, when I got given this.

The first thing that stands out to me is the packaging, I do love it! It portrays a pretty floral product which indeed it is! I like the way the box shows the illusion of a wrapped present that is secured by a wax stamp!

Moving to the bottle itself, I just feel like it is very well presented and girly. The liquid has a slight pink tinge, and this is carried on through the metal on the product as well, which i think is a great touch! The plastic wax stamp which is made into a tag on the bottle is also really cute. (However be careful when transporting the perfume, because it is not that strong and mine has snapped off :( Whoops)

I utterly LOVE the smell! This shouldn't be a surprise or I guess I would not be writing this LOVE IT post. It is rather strong therefore not much is needed. Floral scents come through the strongest, however it is not overpowering because I am not usually the biggest fan of overly floral perfumes. It is rather sweet but also musky, and I think it has a sexy element about it. By far the best thing about this perfume is that it actually STAYS!

The only downsides are as I mentioned before the price and the tag being weak for transportation.

So if you are looking for a new fragrance, that is feminine and sexy try this!

Price: £65.00 (50ml) ~ This price is taken from boots.

Review: Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint ~ Barry M

Nails nails nails....

... I just love painting them! So my newest edition to my nails varnish collection is the Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint by Barry M. I picked the shade Lychee. As you may know this is one of Barry Ms fast growing effects range.

I lurvvveeee my nude colours you see so this shade stood out to me straight away. The first thing i noticed about this nail varnish was when i was using it the smell is just lovely. You may be thinking what an odd thing to first recognise but its actually really nice not over powering like some.

Next i did find that it does not seem to go on completely even however it does seem to even out whilst your doing your other nails. It does say one coat needed however i prefer the effect of two. however i have noticed the more coats you apply the more likely it is to chip so bare this in mind :) It does dry nice and quickly though always a bonus!

I love this effect that it constantly looks wet and with extra shine. I think it makes your nails look like you have just had them all done especially if you have nicely grown nails. Someone even asked me if mine were fake or real?! (I wasn't too sure if i should take this as a compliment or not lol.)

The rest of the colour range i find is rather random because there are a lot of bright colours but also some pastels. I am really happy with the product.

What are your thoughts?

Nail Art Obsession

So while I have been a tad quiet I have got myself really into nail art! I have abused my nail envy to gain false nail length natural nails which I LOVE!

It's a very rare occasion when I don't have any nail varnish on at all. So I decide why not be more creative with it. What have I got to loose? (My social life?!) Ha! I actually get told off by friends and family for how much I do them over other things!

Here are a few of my latest :)

Hope you like them :) which are your favourite?

LOVE IT. LIFE SAVER ----> OPI Nail Envy

Hello my beauties,

Well i got my nails done (Full set of acrylics) from Hollywood nails in the metro centre and usually they are pretty good however i wasn't too impressed by them this time they were all different lengths and i am a perfectionist when it comes to things like false nails and i am afraid to say i was an unhappy bunny :( they are usually very good so i must have got a person having a bad day or something. Just my luck haha.

Anyhooooooo....i was a good girl and soaked them off instead of biting them off however my nails were still completely wrecked underneath. So i read a few blog posts on nail strengtheners and decided to try the OPI Nail Envy. I am soooo glad i did! I am in LOVE with it. My nails are usually quite prone to breaking and flaking and i have been using this product now for about 2 weeks and my nails are coming along lovely :) I am so impressed!

I applied two coats at first and then added a coat every other day then after a week i removed it and started from scratch. I can actually not express enough how impressed i am by this product. I am shocked i really am. I got it in Matt as well and i love the effect it gives to your nails it is not totally Matt but gives them a little shine :)

I would STRONGLY recommend getting this product if you are having trouble growing your nails. Also a little tip would be to buy it from Ebay not your usual places like Boots etc if you are wanting to get it a little cheaper :)

Sorry i just had to share my excitement about it :) hehe

February's Glossybox

Glossybox time :)

Well this months box was the fashion week edition and i think i was quite pleasantly surprised with what was in this box this month. I am loving the dusky pink packaging which is usually the norm if i am right but i haven't received this colouring in a box before because i subscribed in December.

I have heard many different people getting quite varied stuff in this months box. But here is what is in mine this month;

  • DUWOP Venom Gloss - Combining Subtle tinting lip gloss with DuWop's Lip Venom to create Venom Gloss.
My Thoughts - I got the colour Buttercup in this product which from the tube looks like a colour i would usually go for so i was quite excited to use it. I am liking the smell of the gloss however you do kind of get the smell of those aniseed sweets you used to get. (Probably still can lol) On application you get a nice tingle feeling which i like but it is by no means uncomfortable. The product is rather thick and the only thing i tend to stay away from in lip glosses is the sticky ones and i am afraid this is a sticky lip gloss. However i do rather like this product so i might be able to ignore this little pointer lol. Yet considering it is tinted you do not get much of a colour which i personally think is a bonus but i did receive a rather natural shade.

  • IMPRESS Press -on Manicure - Impress by Broadway Nails is the revolutionary way to apply polish! Simply peel off, press on, and done!
My Thoughts - I received this product in animal print. The packaging i was blown away by i totally love it! so cute! Its a little Nail varnish case which has a twist off lid and the top then opens to contain the nails. I was really impressed by the packaging. The nails however you get 12 different sizes however i have quite wide nails and they are not a perfect fit but this is inevitable with this kind of product. I do love the design and they seem easy enough to apply. Yet they are rather short and when laying them on top of my nails i found some of my nails were longer than the false nail.

  • PAUL MITCHELL Quick Slip - A clean, lightweight, conditioning styling product that provides soft, flexible hold, UV protection and reduced dry time.

My Thoughts - I haven't tried this product yet but i will update when i do :)

  • BM BEAUTY Pure Mineral Eyeshadow - Award winning pure mineral eyeshadow. Cruelty free and suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
My Thoughts - In received the shade Her Majesty which is a pinky/bronze type of colour. This shadow is very glittery/shimmery and i am more a matt eyeshadow person myself. Therefore i do not think i would get a lot of wear from this product maybe if i fancied a change however it is not really my norm.

  • COMO SHAMBHALA Invigorating Shower Gel - A Revitalising blend of essential oils that puts you in perfectly uplifting mood.

My Thoughts - I love getting shower gels because i love smelling lovely when you get out of the shower. This shower gel does just that it has a lovely fresh smell about it and is lovely to use. What more can you ask for?

Another exciting little element which has got me truly intrigued is the little card we received with the box saying expect the unexpected talking about a mystery box :) how exciting we have to check the website on the 24th so TOMORROW eeee hehe let's hope it is as exciting as the concept lol.

All in all i was really impressed with this months Glossybox :)

17 Magnatized Nail Polish

Howdy

I have wanted to try this out for a very long time yet couldn't bring myself to spend £15 or so on a nail varnish! So when i found out you could get this version which did practically the same thing for less than half the price i jumped at the chance!

The 1st thing i noticed really was that the instructions on this product were pretty poor so ended up watching a youtube tutorial on what to do lol. I picked the teal shade to try as it was that or blue to choose from.

You have to apply quite a thick layer to each nail for the magnetic particles to work properly. Yet i feel it goes on rather smoothly and easily. I was also pleasantly surprised by how well the magnetic effect actually works and the pace it does so.

I found i got many compliments on my nails especially by people who had not witnessed the magnetic effect before and i also do love the effect myself. Yet  did find that it chips rather quickly and easily especially if you do not apply top coat. All in all i am pretty impressed by the product and would definitely buy it in some other colours :)

Review: Soap and Glory - Hand Food

Hello :)

Just had to write about this must have! I think i have realised this due to this FREEZING cold weather lately! I tend to carry it in my handbag so i have it at all times.

The 1st thing that strikes me about any Soap and Glory product is the quirky packaging. Not so much the actual packaging but whats written on them. They are just so full of themselves and i love it! ' The most astonishing hand cream ever?'

The next thing i love about this is of course the smell! Now that is AMAZING! The description is also pretty spot on ' non - greasy hydrating hand cream with shea butter, macadamia oil & marshmallow'

After using the product i totally agree with the hand cream being non- greasy and also hydrating once i have used the product i do feel as instant upgrade in the moisture in my hands. Not to mention the lovely waft of smell u get when your hands reach any where near your nose.

January Glossybox

I was quite excited for this glossybox still being pretty new to them and also with it been a valentines special!

It came in a hot pink box which i love and even had a cute hot pink heart holding the paper together along with a silver ribbon very nice indeed!

The contents of my box;

  • Eyeko Skinny Eyeliner in Plum » This is a full size item to start :) we like these lol. It goes on well and evenly. The colour is deep so is rather nice with plum based smokey eyes. It also wears rather well for eyeliner.
  • Orly Nail Lacquer in Ruby » I am not really a huge fan of red nail varnish to be honest however this is quite a deep red and it goes on very smoothly and gives rather even coverage. It also does not have that really harsh smell that some nail varnish has. It seemed to dry rather quickly too which is a big advantage. Once applied it has a high glossy finish as well which i like. I think i will actually wear this nail varnish because its quite a nice shade and also very appropriate for the valentines season.
  • Weleda One Step Cleanser & Toner
  • Fab Gentle Body Wash >> I was intrigued with this product with me having extremely sensitive skin at times i thought that this could be a very good purchase for me if it was good. When i tried it i was a little disappointed with the lack of fragrance it had to it however what it does have is pleasant fresh and clean. But i like to smell fruity etc once i have been in the shower It did not irritate my skin at all so that was good. However my skin is not that bad at the moment so it will be a good product for when my skin is playing up.
  • Murad Hybrids Skin Perfecting Primer - Dewy Finish >> I used this under my foundation and i actually really like the product! The only downside for me was that the shade was a little too dark for my skin so fake tan was at the ready :) However it applies nicely and also makes your make up look a lot more air brushed. I was impressed.
  • Valentines Themed Sweet :)
I will make sure i update the post as i try out each product :) Watch this space

Review: LUSH Pow Wow Lip Scrub

Hello,

I went and bought a few little bits yesterday and this was one which i have never tried before but with it been extremely cold in Newcastle at the moment my lips are getting all flaky and chapped so i decided to give it a go.

Lush do a range of lip scrubs including bubble gum, Sweet lips, Mint Julips and Pow Wow. I smelt them all in the shop and this one jumped out at me the most it just smells totally AMAZING like kind of Limey and i LOVE lime lol. Where the others smelt a little sweet and sickly for my taste and i would have probably tried to eat the mint one but i would have chose that if the Pow Wow was not there.

The other thing that made me chose this is that when i was reading the ingredients the first one on the list was POPPING CANDY! Well that was me practically sold already because i love the stuff  :)

This is a limited edition for the festive period however i could still get it in the metro centre so?

Reference: Google Images
)

The packaging is really nice i think with a little round sturdy glass bottom and a secure Black plastic lid so you do not get any leaks.

The product its self i was quite impressed with because i love the colour and the smell however it is a little tricky to use at first when your pot is full because there is quite a few bigger lumps in the pot so do it over a sink ;) lol. However once you get the swing of things it gets easier. You do get the popping candy sensation a little bit it tends to be if you get one of the bigger lumps i have found so far and that is a nice tingly feeling on your lips.

The out come is acceptable i would say it left my lips feeling softer and some what smoother and especially if you accompany your lips after with a lip balm for example this adds to the results.

The price was a little shock i was expecting like £2.50 for something of that size say but noooooo it was like £4.95! I thought it was a little pricey for what it is personally but i do however like the product as a whole :)

Digital Foundation!

Ok....so i was browsing the Internet and came across this crazy idea of a new product which is going to be available in 2012 so now i guess...

Its called Romi Digital Foundation. This is what it is meant to do according to totalbeauty.com ;

' This handheld device helps you flawlessly apply foundation thanks to the automatic stippling technique (similar to a patting motion) it uses. In one minute it dispenses 5,000 gentle pats to distribute an all-in-one primer, foundation, concealer, and powder to your skin without a cakey or uneven finish. You can choose from among three shades and each kit comes with two months' worth of foundation and three sponge heads.'

However, i am not quite sold myself i mean how can this little bottle apply your make up so perfectly? So my curiosity taking over me made me delve a little deeper to see if i could find anything else out. All i really came across was this following you tube video which is meant to show you the difference between rubbing foundation on with your hands and using the digital device. I'm still not so sure.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xewzalg-KT0&feature=related (I was trying to add it as a video for you's however it would not let me :( humph )

What do you think?

December Glossy Box

I know i am a little late but i finally got my 1st glossy box even though its nearly time for Jan's i am still excited!!! =)

I just love the packaging and how its all presented its lovely!

So December's glossy box included:
  • Blink + Go Eyeshadow and Blush Palette
  • Cargo Cosmetics Classic Lip Gloss
  • Deborah Lippmann Razzle Dazzle Mini Nail Varnish With Stripped to Go Sachet
  • Nip +Fab Spot Fix
  • Rituals Foaming Shower Gel

This seems a little crazy on the colour side for my i don't think i would particularly use many of these colours if i am being honest maybe for fancy dress lol i think i would only get use out of the white and the Goldy colour.

So Far i have used:
  • The Nip + Fab spot fix because i had a spot which i am totally sure was about to take over my chin and it seems to have helped it quite fast it seems smaller and less inflamed so thumbs up to this!
  • The Lip gloss is a nice colour yet the little down fall for me is that it is a little sticky and sticky lip glosses kind of put me off.
  • The Stripper to Go in Lavender i actually adore this product i think it is completely amazing! It brings your nails varnish off in literally seconds and the mitt idea is just fantastic i would definitely invest in some more of these! I am a huge fan. If i had to find a flaw then i would say it can be a little irritating to your fingers if you have cuts etc stings a little but it would if you used nail varnish remover and pads so?
  • I have yet to use the shower gel but i will update for you.
Should be very soon we receive Jan's Glossy Box lol but I'm new to this so wanted to post the 1st one i received even though it is horrendously late =)

Review: EOS:The Lip Balm that baffles

The balms are a blend of petrolatum, paraben and gluten-free but still have a hydrating mix of shea butter, jojoba oil and vitamin E to keep lips smooth and gently hydrated.

The packaging i find is awesome its in a beautiful smooth little sphere which twists open to reveal a dome shaped balm. I think its brilliant totally in love.

I got the passionfruit flavour because its one of my favourite flavours. This is a sweet, fruity flavour thats light weight and hydrates lips just enough without leaving them feeling greasy.

If you hadn't already noticed i am a huge fan of these little balls of heaven!

Review: Hair Saviour - Batiste Dry Shampoo

Ok i am a total LOVER of dry shampoo it saves my life while making my hair smell LUSH =)

I have tried a few from their collection.....

1. Tropical - This is my norm i LOVE this one and can't get enough of the smell of it! mmmmmmmm

2. Blonde Hint of Colour - I have used this one before but i went back to the tropical because the colour looked a little odd in my hair. Not a huge fan.

3. Blush - I am really not a floral kind of smelliness person lol so i didnt really enjoy this....tooooo flowery for me but it works just as well as the tropical one bar the smell. =)

4. XXL Volume - this is the newest out of the collection i have tried. Don't get me wrong it totally does give you volume and is very effective more for up dos i would say because it makes your hair feel extremely coarse and full of product. I don't really like this due to the fact it makes your hair feel so stuck together and dry where as i dont find the others do.

I think the next one i want to try is the WILD mind you i probably will still totally revert back to TROPICAL because i don't personally think you can beat it =)
