Ciate - Feather Manicure

Heyyy,

Another quick Ciate nail post. Well I was really lusting after the Ciate feather manicure set because I thought it looked really cool. I finally plucked up the courage to spend the money on it! £18 when I bought it if I remember rightly. So you do get the whole kit and the kit includes:

  • Feathers
  • Nail scissors
  • 2 hard file sponged
  • Top coat
  • Mini white colour
This manicure is definitely fiddly! And for a person with OCD for things like this I actually found it rather stressful at times because some of the feathers were not sitting how I wanted them too! Then when it came to filing around once you had cut the feathers it was difficult to get the smooth finish I was after. However once finished I did think the effect looked really unusual and nice! It just depends on if you have the time and patience to go through with it!

Here is what my finished nails looked like in the end. I placed them on the box purely for Instagram purposes!

Have you tried this manicure before? What do you think of the end result?

Ciate ~ Pocket Money Nail Polish

Beautiful Nails,

In my Feb GlossyBox I received the Ciate ~ Pocket Money Nail Polish and I instantly fell in love! I LOVE NUDES!!!

The Ciate website describes it as 'The ultimate in understated luxury, this creamy fudge nude is a sweet treat for fingers and the perfect girly indulgence. Break open your piggy bank and splash out on some me time.'

I thought I would put it to good use and do a simple design. I simply used diamontes and placed them in a cross shape. It was a little fiddly but I would say it is a easy design to do and looks very classy.

Barbie Hen Do - Survival Bags

Hello,

So I have been super busy at the minute because one of my best friends are getting married and she asked me to be Maid of Honour! Which I am completely chuffed about! This means that I am in charge of making sure the Hen do is totally and utterly AMAZING!

We are going to Benidorm for 4 days one of the hen and stag capitals! She decided she wanted it to be Barbie themed! So very pink and for one of the nights everyone dresses as a type of Barbie. I have decided I am going to be police woman Barbie. I thought this would fit rather well considering I will have a whistle and need to organise 22 chicks! Deary me!

The first thing I have created are Alice's Hen Do bags....I took this from the survival kit ideas that are floating around. I had to make 22 so this took quite a while.

The Bag's for Alice's Hen Do

I got some plain pink paper bags from Ebay. I made a name label for each bag and tided it on with ribbon. I also made some Barbie stickers for the front. On to the contents of the bags. I chose some items to go into the bags and then attached tags to each item saying something about this item. In the bags there were:
  • Barbie Toothbrush - 'For your death breath the morning after'
  • Pre Packed Pink Shot - 'You know what to do with this'
  • Willy Straw- 'To help you drink like a lady'
  • Grips - 'Get a grip'
  • Wine - ' To get you started'
  • Glass - ' Keep this topped up'
  • Hair Bobble - ' So nobody has to hold your hair back'
  • Candy Love Hearts - 'To spread the love'
  • Candy Necklace - 'Something a little sweet'
  • Dare Card - 'I dare you'
  • Plasters - 'For those party feet'
  • Paracetamol - ' For your headache'
Here's a photo of the bags themselves

Hope you like them

Christmassy Nails

Hello,
I thought as we are making our way into December it was time for some Christmassy nail art. I love doing my nails and I have been slacking with them because I have been so busy at work! So I enjoyed chilling and watching home alone whilst doing my nails. It's a lovely way to spend my Sunday in my eyes. :)

I decided on a rather easy design because I am a little out of practice therefore didn't quite no what they would turn out like.

How to:
  • I chose to use Models Own ~ Jade Stone as my main colour.
  • I then chose the use Mabelline Express Finish ~Pearl for my snow and the snowman base. (I don't seem to have a decent white it took me quite a few coats). I used a cocktail stick for the dots to look like snow.
  •  I moved onto doing the hat, eyes and mouth with my black nail art pen and the nose with a Orange nail art pen.

Very simple design but I think it looks cute. What do your festive nails look like?

December has arrived....

DECEMBER which only means one thing...

...CHRISTMAS SOON! Personally I cannot wait! It is one of the most AMAZING times of the year! (Sorry about all the !!! can you tell I am a tad excited)

So to start my first weekend off in December me and mother duck decided to do some christmas shopping in Leeds. So naturally we had a wander around the german christmas market :) here are some pictures below of our little adventure! I say adventure because it was not really planned! Mam decided we should go to a train station and then hop on the first train that comes in to a shopping destination. She loved the uncertainty of it all however me on the other hand, I was a little not stressed but apprehensive about it all. hehe. (I need structure ha!)

Sunday arrived and we decided due to the great start to the weekend we had we would go and get a christmas tree and decorate to feel really festive! I somehow managed to decorate the tree as a sole ranger...not sure how this came around but I was quite proud of my little masterpiece!

   What do you think?

The Crowds in Leeds were pretty mental! People must be deciding they need to get cracking with their shopping! It was very busy! It was crazy busy but not so bad YET that you had to fight to get into shops, never mind to see anything! But the pretty lights were up in Trinity :)

After battling those crowds a well deserved glass of wine and a pizza was what came next!

I had an AMAZING weekend! I also got a cheeky Honeycomb Hot Choc from Costa! It was one of the most yummy things in the world! I was even sniffing the cup after I finished it! ( I am not mental honest it was delightful) I loved the lovely festive cup too so cute!!!

Then sad as I am, one of the highlights of my weekend was on Sunday morning and getting Toby dog excited about opening his doggy advent calendar. How cute is he waiting for his choc! BEAUTIFUL he is!

So how did you spend your first weekend in December?

Review: L'Oreal Paris ~ Skin Perfection 3 in 1 Purifying Micellar Solution

Review time :)

First of all I will start with what the L'Oreal website states about this product.

"L’OrĂ©al Paris Skin Perfection Purifying Micellar Water, high performance cleansing for sensitive skin. Used by make-up artists, the ‘micellar’ solution swiftly removes all traces of make-up and acts like a purifying magnet on skin’s surface to capture and draw out excess oil and impurities. So gentle, skin feels soothed and toned. Hypo-allergenic. No Alcohol. Dermatologically tested."

What I think:

Well personally I LOVE this product and I use it every night! I find it takes off all of my make up and leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth! I tend to use it with cotton wool pads and use them until I no longer have any make up residue left on the pad. It is very gentle and has no alcohol in the product, which I really like. I even use it to take off my eye make up. I have sensitive skin and so far have had no bad reaction around my eye area from doing so. BONUS! hehe. I am now on my 3rd bottle this is how much I adore the product.

WARNING:

The hole in the top of the bottle is rather wide therefore you can sometimes over pour and this results in a waste of the product and also a very wet, soggy cotton wool pad!

You are able to pick this product up from most UK supermarkets or drugstores. The RRP is £4.99

Have you tried it?
